Along with my mandatory OA visa insurance, I took out COVID insurance in the amount of 800,000 THB in April last year. I think it cost me about 800 THB. And combined with my mandatory health insurance, that gives me coverage of 1.2m THB. Still not the same as US$100,000 though.
I suppose the other thing is, the government is thinking about ending the 14 days quarantine requirement for people who’ve been inoculated. If that becomes the case, then I assume that the government considers that those people are not at risk of spreading or acquiring COVID so by definition, they shouldn’t require the COVID insurance.
So if I don’t have a departure date, that would mean that I’d have to continue to extend my COVID insurance in increments until I next depart the country. Sounds a bit unfair given that if I hadn’t left the country I wouldn’t need the COVID insurance.
correct and we will. However my response was a general answer to a question. Rather than say a couple of weeks, I suggested a few weeks. And there is no set time frame for a few weeks. But, I wouldn’t say a few weeks would be infinite. I’m a glass half full person and prefer optimism to pessimism
