Cheers, i was pretty convinced the accommodation and exit flight wouldnt be required but was unsure about the cash. I actually always carried 20k baht with me, not sure why I put 10k.
If you mean the safe entry I used it twice last year, after the IOs started asking me an increasing amount of questions every entry, without any issues. I used this groups creator and the service was great.
I imagine you will be fine. What you're doing surely wont be seen as abusing the system, in fact I would've thought that was the whole point in the system. They seem to be looking at people extending and border bouncing to stay here all year round without a visa.
Contact the group creators, I used safe entry with them once before and everything worked fine. I think now they will do a check first and say if they can help.
Its going to take a while to get a good idea about how immigration and the individual immigration officers are going to deal with the new rules. Youve got more than enough time to get a tourist visa which for the next visit may be the safest option until we see more stories in the group about people entering on visa exemptions.
I wouldnt say there is no possibility just because it isn't on the cards right now. If they are starting to look at things regarding immigration and the exemptions are the start then surely DTVs will be on that list too. Not saying they will do anything but to say no possibility in Thailand is brave.
I totally agree with you on that, people with genuine reasons for a visa such as marriage or a thai child should have an easy time getting a visa. I had no problems getting my visa based around my son but I have spoken to people who have struggled. Some people struggle meet the financial requirements, I'm lucky to have a relatively high paying job so I could save 400k but because I'm day rate and dont receive a salary every month I can't use my monthly income as financial proof so if others are day rate on a lower salary job they may struggle with the finances.
