You are at the age where you should do it if that is your desire. I am 78 and wish I had lived internationally when I was in my 50’s. You have far less chance of medical problems at your age than when older. Are there places in Europe you could move to if you have health issues when older? Where health care is free?
You can buy a ferry ticket from Bantam to Singapore for about $30 USD. Then you have an onward booking. I also had an onward ticket to Laos but was not asked for either.
If you need to change your flight, which I often do once in-country, it is much easier to do if you book with the airline itself. Sometimes you are bounced back and forth between the airline and travel service, each blaming the other.
Wow. Great advice. Thank you. The terms surrounding “visas” are confusing. I think pre-Covid everyone arrived VOA. But now I see that only applies to non-exempt countries, of which the US is not.
