Yes it’s good business for easy paperwork everyone easily can do themselves. The actual cost/fees are 2000 baht for the initial 90 days visa, 1900 baht for a one year extension of stay. If you want re-entry permit it’s 1000 baht for single and 3800 baht for multiple.

Thank you for sharing. I’m happy I managed to open in both Bangkok and Krungthai bank on visa exemption myself some year ago, today I guess I’d just used an agent. Done in 30 min at a 3500 baht fee.

Long term visa;

*Thai privilege visa for ten years you can just buy and it’s 1,5 million baht for 10 years.

*Long term residence visa is 50K baht but the requirements are quite stiff. You’ll need a passive income of minimum 80K USD a year or minimum 40K USD and invest 250K USD in Thailand.

*Five years Non O-X visa requires 3 million baht in a Thai bank.

*A regular retirement visa is 1900 baht a year and it’s quite straightforward but there’s always several agents willing to “help” you for 15-25K baht.

Ok, our Norwegian embassy in Bangkok just verifies our own documents from two sources; pension provider or the tax authorities at home.

Best to apply at home

with your 800K baht or income/pension. Done online in some days, easy to open a bank account in Thailand and transfer the 800K baht within a month and apply for your first year extension of stay after two months.

Sadly that’s correct, US, UK and AUS stooped issuing affidavit letters in 2018.

As I understand they also accept affidavit letter if your embassy provides this service.

I wish I could give you a straight answer, but you’re close to a limit and everything is up to the IO you’re standing in front of. Personally I would have done two preparations for myself; 1) Try to get a international flight direct to Chang Mai as they have no reported denials of entries 2) Be prepared to fly to a nearby airport and enter by a land border as they almost certainly will let you in on a tourist visa, unless you use the Poipet border.

You could try to apply for another METV. If they don’t approve it, they will only issue a single entry visa.

The restrictions regarding border runs for visa exemptions is only two in a calendar year (1. Jan - 31 dec) by land borders. No official restrictions by airports.
