TLDR : Answer Summary
For a Thai Marriage Visa, the required monthly income is 40,000 baht. Alternatively, applicants can demonstrate a bank balance of 400,000 baht. Some immigration offices may only accept proof of income from employment in Thailand and may not recognize proof of international transfers.

Marriage to Thai is 40,000 per month or bank balance of 400,000. Note that if you wanted to do monthly transfers, some immigration offices only accept proof of 40,000 income from a job in Thailand and will not accept proof of international transfers.

As I understand they also accept affidavit letter if your embassy provides this service.

Sadly that’s correct, US, UK and AUS stooped issuing affidavit letters in 2018.

Jan Kenneth Nesland It's not sad at all. Immigration told theses three countries embassies in Bangkok to come up with an income letter before the end of 2018 that showed a documented income from authorities back home. They said,it wasn't possible. Immigration asked them why most European embassies/consulates were able to do it. I guess they didn't have an answer to that.

Ok, our Norwegian embassy in Bangkok just verifies our own documents from two sources; pension provider or the tax authorities at home.

Yes, that's about the same sources most European embassies and consulates which issues income letters uses. That's how it's supposed to work.
