I think many people get the "amnesty" wrong. Its not a visa or permission of stay, they are in effect just writing off the inevitable overstay that x person will have when they leave the country. Hence the word amnesty.

You will probably have to leave the country when the borders are open and obtain a new Non Immigrant visa from a neighbouring consulate or embassy. Then extend on that once you are back.

Well you shouldnt be fined as its not your responsibility but you will probably will end up paying it. 800 baht is the norm.

Multiple in Penang or single in Savannakhet ! Ive done a single in Savannakhet loads of times. Birth certificate and copy, copy of house book with the registry of the child, copy of your Laos visa, copy of your photo page, photos for visa application. There is a desk opposite the consulate who check everything for you, 100 baht ! If in doubt just take originals of everything with you and they can check it.

Has this changed ? I thought the multi entry Non O in Savannakhet did require funds to be shown ?

70 or over they are still foreigners to the government. Foreigners must pay, especially the white ones.

There should just be an automatic reprieve for any stamp that finishes now or in the future until this virus is done. Then that way no one needs to report anywhere in person and you don't need anyone to manage it as of right now. Just a simple case of checking the stamp was March and onwards when someone either exits or extends.

After all no one can come in anymore anyway so the principles and politics of their immigration system wont be effected.

I somehow doubt the Thai police would let an overstay slide because you didnt want to potentially infect an immigration officer. It will be handcuffs and straight to IDC.
