TLDR : Answer Summary
The best visa options for someone working offshore in UK waters and traveling to Thailand every three weeks include the Elite Visa for long-term stays or the Multi-entry Non O Visa if married to a Thai national. While the 30-day on-arrival visa can work, it's advised to prepare for potential scrutiny from immigration authorities due to frequent entries.

It feels like this thread had run it's course. I'm closing comments. If you have your own questions, make your own post.

1. Right now, the borders are shut.

2. Do not try living in Thailand on tourist visa or visa exampt. Immigration had been known to reject people from entering, and when that happens, you'll have to stay in the immigration detention center until you can get a flight back - not fun

things have greatly changed. Thai Immigration is tracking carefully your entries and exits. Be prepared for questioning upon an arrival and possible denied entry. Its happening more and more. Good Luck πŸ˜‰

If BK is home, I suggest HCMC over Savanakhet, easier travel options and a better place to be while waiting.

@Joe *****
you are welcome. It takes two days to obtain the visa.

Submit application morning of first day..pick up afternoon of next day.

Good Luck.

If you are married to a Thai you should obtain the one year Multi-entry Non O Visa Married to a Thai.

Easily obtained when travel is allowed again in Savannakhet Laos. No proof of financials is needed or money in a Thai bank

Has this changed ? I thought the multi entry Non O in Savannakhet did require funds to be shown ?

Elite visa is the most suitable one for this requirement.

(y) good suggestion :)

What is "home"? Do you have a Thai wife? A half-Thai child? Do you have 500K for an elite visa? DO you have 10M for an investment visa?
