I can agree with that. But, considering that the initial restrictions were so tough, COE’s, $100,000 worth of insurance, 14 day quarantine with several test during the quarantine, they’ve come a long way. I’ve had to do that 4 times and it is severely restrictive. Frankly, it sucks. Thailand seems to be a bit more cautions and conservative then the rest of the world concerning this virus and that should be ok for everyone else. This is a step that makes them comfortable and we should respect that. I doubt you’d find many Thais that don’t want things back to normal as much as the rest of us. I don’t think it will be long before we see this go away, too. I hope that by spring or early summer we’ll see them a little more in line with the rest of the world.

So, you all want to scrap all the requirements, come in sick, spread the virus, have Thai people die, then really have the country shut down tight, all because you can’t be inconvenienced to take a couple test? What’s wrong with this picture? Stay home.

It is scarier in your head. Once I got to Thailand they were very friendly and comforting. I’m sure I had the same things going on in my head that you do, but I was overthinking it. If you have your papers in order, you’re golden. One thing I did do to ease my mind was I made three copies of everything. Carries one with me, one in my carry on and one in my checked bag. That maybe over doing it, but I was freaking out the most about losing my paperwork. The Quarantine was relaxing. You do a self checking via and app, twice a day, reporting your over all health and your temperature. They provide a thermometer in your room. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to PM me.

Assuming they use the same protocol they did for the other re-entry groups, Once you request the Certificate of Entry from the Thai Embassy or consulate they will send you a link to an automated form and the list of hotels and requirements. It’s very efficient and straight forward asl long as you read everything very carefully.

not long at all. Timing is really the key. If they use the same system as the US, once you start the process they will keep you updated on what you need to move forward or if you’re missing anything. I was lucky and was able to get a flight in a weeks time. You have 4 airlines that are currently approved. If you email them individually, they will send you a list of available fights and if there is still room.

It is refundable and the dates a flexible to a degree. I had to change mine once. Your meals are free. The test are free. It’s not a bad experience at all. Of course I’m sure that varies from place to place.

they need to guarantee you have a place to quarantine. It is not a simple process. I know. I just went through it and I am now in ASQ. They are not going to process you if you do not have a gov. Approved flight. ASQ booked. $100,000.00 Covid policy.
