Sydney-Incheon (Korea)-Vientiane. Australia has a website pathology service specifically for international travellers that fast tracks the system and emails the PCR result. It is tight and We can’t afford to have the plane delayed 😳

For Laos, the PCR test must be collected 72 hours before landing at the airport in Laos. This is hard to comply travelling from Australia.

Which travel insurance companies offer COVID-19 coverage of $100,000 for trips to Thailand?

Allianz- they are fabulous. I have cover for $100,000 USD and a statement that says they cover for COVID in Thailand and you need this statement if you are travelling there even to transit BKK.

When should I apply for a visa after booking a one-way ticket to Thailand?

I often transited BKK to Bangladesh or Laos and I have been asked at least 80% of the time for evidence of my ongoing flight. They don’t want you stuck in Thailand.
