it wasn’t specifically about your issue but about TM 30s in general. I will have the same issue as you. As I’ve just got a non o visa I think I’ll play it safe and get a new TM 30 report filed when I get to BKK
this has been discussed at length today on a separate post. There seems to be a lot of confusion as to whether you need to apply for TM 30 when moving between addresses within Thailand. Bangkok immigration seem to be more relaxed about NOT needing a new one.
For example, if you have filed your TM 30 at your permanent address in BKK and then you go away for the weekend to eg a Phuket hotel (where you’re automatically registered again by the hotel with Phuket immigration), will this Phuket registration then be picked up by BKK immigration on their system? Are the nationwide TM 30 registrations available to be viewed by every immigration office?
me neither. I was under the impression that rule changed some years ago to include only international travel. Also are the various immigration offices all “joined up” to cross check your TM 30s with each other ?
Look into getting the non o retirement visa before you come. It’s relatively easy to apply at the Thai embassy online in your home country. Mine was processed in London in 2 days.
