I do not disagree with you. Ive seen people been asked more money then they should at immigration because they had previous history with agent. So the officer expected to be own a bribe because he had access to your history. I just havent heard enough stories that turned badly in such regard to be that worry. I am under 50 so im not familiar with retirement visa process but I trust you on that. But for example, If I get a marriage extension with agent, and next year I decide to do Ed Visa on my own, I dont think my previous marriage extension with agent will be a big deal. I could be wrong, but its a different process. I dont find 30-40k baht a year a hard price to pay to have peace of mind. Its less then $100 usd a month. This is obv temporary solution until they comes up with any kind of visa which will be open to the "digital nomads". I know that you hate agents, but the system suck for people around my age (36 years old), not rich, but make enough from his laptop (100k baht a month on average), to never be a liability while contributing to the economy. Im getting married next week so things should get easier moving forward but it suck that in neighbor countries like Cambodia its so easy to get work visa, or long term visa in Vietnam.
I will continue to help such "covid counter jumpers, bottom feeders and similar broken souls" as you describe them incorrectly, because I value them as humans regardless if they are rich or not. Btw, you are an anonymous coward, so I don't know which reputation you are trying to preserve while hiding your face, lol!
No idea about hotels, I've been here since way before Covid, and never once did I pay in advance. p.s: If you have money, an agent can make sure that you are not denied at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Yes, it's a bribe, but it works.
Exactly! It's not about telling them the truth, it's about telling them what they want to hear. "I want to travel and see more of Thailand now since the pandemic finished.", nothing less, nothing more.
If you failed the 90 days report test it's because you didn't go to school, correct? It's not impossible that your school worked with an agent to get your Ed Visa so they didn't care that you didn't go. As I say every day (and some people still don't believe me here), you will get denied entry at Suvarnabhumi Airport if you can't speak Thai while on a previous Ed Visa. Your school knows what's up because they most likely work with agents who are up to date.
The price with agents was 3.5k baht pre-crackdown. After that, it went up drastically and then became impossible. It's still impossible to do it yourself but if agents told you they can do it for you atm, it's probably true. Things change week to week. For example, I know that ed visa with agents are coming back soon. Hopefully, more good news coming soon.
