Thanks, yes, I had heard about the possibility that I could do within 7 days but I wasn't entirely sure - I thought it could be another rumour : ) Anyway, thanks for clarifying - I'll do it anyway then. Best wishes.
I recently got a non B visa from Denpasar, Bali and can only say it was the nicest immigration office I've ever been to. There is a 3 day wait but no queues whatsoever. There is a list of all the requirements for a non B visa on most consulate websites but I think your school need to get some help from another school if you do decide you need to go to a foreign consulate as there are quite a few documents. There can be some slight differences in requirements at different consulates too. Double check with the consulate that you have everything before you head to see them. Remember that you need to get a police check if you're going to be teaching. As to whether your school should pay - in an ideal world they probably should but it probably varies from school to school. I had to pay every penny myself.
Refuse me on what basis? I previously lived in Samui and will be living. So they would refuse me because I hadn't mentioned leaving Samui at various stages?
What do you mean? Koh Samui is the area I previously resided and plan to reside so it would be accurate. Plus, do they look at Facebook pages for intel when entering Thailand? I don't regularly update info on Facebook. I think it still says I work in Japan. I didn't think we were required to keep Facebook up to date for legal matters.
