Also try using IE/Edge instead of your regular browser.

I need to do this for some NZ government sites otherwise it won’t let me login (I assume I’ve got a browser plug-in or security settings it doesn’t like).

Talk to your school, tell them that you need confirmation on your next contract + paperwork from them to extend your work permit + extension for another year.

It should be so easy and straightforward but some schools aren’t very organized when it comes to paperwork for foreigners, especially if they aren’t used to foreigners on “B” extensions continuing at the school for more than 1 year.

Also FYI, you’ll need to do your tax return before applying for your next work permit extension (but the school should handle the rest of your paperwork)

Also RoiEt Immigration will likely (but not always straight away, as it depends on how busy they are) call you (or your wife) when your visa is approved.

You (or your wife) can also call them to check if it's been received by them, rather than having to make the trip in.

It usually takes about 2 weeks for Korat to process it and send it back to RoiEt.

He went over to the UK without his wife/documents for a family emergency.

Copies of documents aren't sufficient right? Not without his wife's original signature on some of them? So he'd need to get them sent over via regular mail.

Do they have a consulate in Scotland? Or only in London?

Cool cheers, yeah I was thinking he’d probably need some sort of onward travel.

Will he likely have any problems at immigration given that he has spent most of last year living in Thailand, if he only enters as visa exempt? (Or, because his previous visa was a multiple OA, not tourist/exempt, will he be ok?)

Generally speaking, I think it's great how the mods close off advice once the questions have been answered.

Otherwise you get so many general comments, and potentially misinformation. People come to these pages for expert advice, once one of the experts have answered it's better if their comments don't get lost in a mountain of opinions etc.

Likewise, off topic posts distract from the purpose of the group. They could be asked anywhere, and the knowledgeable visa members get their newsfeeds clogged up with comments about hotels/minivans etc, they might not bother to check the group comments to help with visa advice as much.
