I received a 90-day single-entry non-immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai at Savannakhet on 14 Nov 2019 and entered Thailand the same day. I was stamped in with an admitted-to date of 11 Feb 2020.
On 22 Jan 2020 I submitted an application for extension of stay based on marriage and the under-consideration stamp instructs me to contact the immigration office in person on 12 Mar 2020.
Does the 12 Mar 2020 date seem reasonable? Does Immigration normally base the usual 30-day under-consideration time period on the admitted-to date (11 Feb 2020 in this case), or do they normally base it on the date you submit the application for extension (22 Jan 2020 in this case). IOW, if I wait to go to immigration on 12 Mar 2020, am I at risk of being in overstay status? Obviously, I can make the 60km trip to Roi Et immigration to ask them, but want to see what the experts here think first.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires whether the immigration under-consideration date of 12 March 2020 seems reasonable and if it affects their overstay status. A comment clarifies that the under-consideration stamp indicates the immigration office visit date, ensuring the user will not be in overstay.
