Why is it difficult to open a Thai bank account on a DTV visa, and what can I do?

I saw a bunch of posts where you need to basically pay an agent a "fee" to open an account for you....but those come with some risks as they can be closed without notice....use the search feature....generally speaking, you cannot open a bank account with a DTV visa

Sorry to hear that. What nationality are you? I've not read anywhere that the DTV visa replaces an existing one (though it does make logical sense). And I did read another comment where someone was requested to cancel their existing visa because they couldn't have two visas at the same time.....you may need to dig around for that

Ok, got it. So just to be clear. You went to Cambodia and applied online and selected Cambodia as the embassy you were applying to. How long did it take? I mean it could take up to 3 weeks for them to issue it. I've seen some saying it took 1-2 days, but you basically need to wait it out there lol

how did you get approved in Cambodia? Dont you have to be a resident of the country you're applying from? That's generally the rules for visas as I understand it
