he asked about “asians”. The Thai people, monarchy and government, do not romanticize the west or whiteness. They don’t aspire to mimic or reflect it. Thailand and China understand the pragmatic importance of knowing the language, but aren’t interested in immersing in or adopting the ‘culture’. Asia is a big place- I only spoke to SEA and the human psych dynamic in general, responding to his question.

it’s an internalized result of being colonized along with the US indoctrinating the world that they are the greatest - people aspire to go there and when whole societies make leaving to go to the ‘greatest place’ it’s goal,

it loses its creativity, ability and drive to make their own country/neighborhood, great. Empire destroys your country, then subsidizes you- a few generations pass and people die off and forget and think the colonizer is kind because they’re helping them. It’s forgotten that things are effed up because of the one who is now ‘the helper’- your Uncle Sam.
