TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around the living situations of expats in Thailand, with participants discussing their rental experiences (short-term and long-term) and considerations for owning property. Comments reflect a variety of circumstances, including fully relocating, renting as non-residents, and the experience of seasonal visitors. There's also curiosity about rental prices and the appeal of various locations in Thailand.

I own a condo at Black Mountain in Hua Hin. I am currently transitioning between the UAE where I have worked since July 2006 and Thailand over the course of the next few months while still looking at options in other places around the world, like Spain for example.

More than one option applies to me!

I’m renting long term but don’t actually live full time in Thailand. Lots of people in my condo building are similar. Eg Scandinavians own condos here and visit each winter for a few months. It’s much quieter in the building now than it was in December/January.

I don’t live there, yet but I am looking forward to it. I am still trying to figure out which part of Thailand that I want to move to.

I've rented short term and 1 year. But since it didn't let me select multiple I chose the 1 year since that's what I'm doing now
