Hello everyone,

I'm Australian married to my Thai wife for 20 years. We are moving to Thailand next month. Our house is in her name and we will live there.

I've received an Australian pension for the past 5 years.

I'm planning to enter Thailand visa exempt for 30 days then extend for 60 days and in the meantime organise and apply for a non-o visa based on marriage.

I understand that I need to prove that I have an income of at least 40,000TB/month to be eligible for a Thai marriage visa. My question is : what is the best way to prove that I have a permanent income stream?

I'm assuming that there are fellow Aussies who have trodden this path recently and can pass on up to date information.

Thanks 🙏 in advance.

Can I, as an Australian resident living here now, who has satisfied the Work Life rule, and lived here most my life, apply for the pension and move to Thailand, immediately, without the 2 year portability rule applying to me?

I understand the 2 year rule applies only to former residents?

Hi guys and gals. Hope you are all well.

I use the combined method of income and small balance in Thai bank for my retirement visa. Around 750k per year income and a floating 100k per year in Krungthai. My income is from my Superannuation fund.

My question is.

Does the approval go on the previous 12 months financial history ? Or is it based on what you present as funds from home for the next 12 months ?

Reason being for my question is …. I have enough in my Super to get me through to December… at which time my Australian pension will kick in. But I am unable to substantiate the forthcoming Australian pension with a document saying so.

I’m guessing that the answer will be … may vary to the scrutiny of which officer or office.

Just preparing for renewal next Thursday 21st April.

I live in Hua Hin and have a question regarding extension of visa based on retirement. I know that 800,000k is the requirement or a combination of income and money up to that amount. With my pension it's paid into an Australian bank account, will that pose a problem even with a letter stating I get $ per fortnight. Or would it be needed to be transferred by me into my Thai bank account fortnightly. I know I can't get it paid into an overseas account. Sorry if this is a silly question

Hi just joined this group. Are there any Aussies living there who get the full old age pension? Just like to know if you ever have to return to Oz to continue getting the pension?
