Hi, just a question for any Australian age pensioners, I am about to apply for a pension and then come to Thailand permanently but on the centrelink website there is a suggestion that I have to stay in Australia for 2 years before I can take my pension to Thailand, I have lived and worked in Australia for 42years, any advice please?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual inquiring about the Australian age pension is considering relocating to Thailand permanently. They mention that the Centrelink website suggests a two-year residency requirement in Australia before being able to take their pension overseas. Responses clarify that as long as they have lived in Australia for the two years prior to applying for the pension, they would be eligible to receive it in Thailand. Others share experiences about challenges with Centrelink, especially when absent from Australia, and discuss supplementing their pensions with superannuation funds.
