Good afternoon all

Next month I will be lodging an TM7 application for one year extension of my O-A non immigrant me visa.

I'm good to go on the requirements except I visited Saraburi Immigration a couple of days ago and was told by an extremely helpful lady officer that my Aussie Government DVA pensions need to translated and certified by the Aussie Embassy in BKK. My pensions exceed the 65k thb monthly requirement.

Does anyone know how to go about this?

I can download from the MyGov website and printout of my pensions which shows clearly all the indicators they come from a Government website. As I am in Saraburi its quite a haul to get to BKK... could I email the document as an attachment? Could I have it translated locally I have a translator I use.. and send original plus translation to the embassy.... or am I obliged to front personally? In which case Does anyone know how long I should plan on staying in BKK to do so?

Hopefully someone can help guide me through this.

Thanks you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to submit a TM7 application for a one-year extension of their O-A non-immigrant visa and needs to certify their Australian Government DVA pensions. They are looking for guidance on the requirements, specifically whether they must visit the Australian Embassy in Bangkok in person or if they can email or send documents by mail for translation and certification. Responses clarify that a statutory declaration is needed from the embassy, the appointment process, and the specific documentation that may be required.

Here's where you make the appointment

You can't use any pension/retirement paperwork from your home country to meet the financial requirements using income of 65K baht a month. If you're an Aussie you must use a "statutory declaration". You make an appointment, you show up at the consulate, you fill out the stat dec stating your name, passport number, address in thailand and that you receive xxxx AUD a month. They notarize it and you give that to the immigration office when you apply for your extension.

The might or might not ask for the back up documentation to show the amount on the stat dec is real (usually they don't, so don't give them copies of your pension letter unless they ask for it).
