I keep hearing that lots of people do it, but the 2 times I asked c*ntlink, the told me we get cut off after 28 days
DSP or aged pension.
Is this correct?
TLDR : Answer Summary
Australians receiving Centrelink payments, such as the Age Pension or Disability Support Pension, must navigate strict rules when living overseas. Payments typically stop immediately upon passing through border security unless specific criteria are met. For the Age Pension, it may be payable overseas if the individual lived in Australia for at least two continuous years before applying and has worked there for a significant duration. Additionally, recipients can travel for up to six months per financial year but must notify Centrelink in advance. Other factors, such as rental assistance, may vary the rules.
