Quick question - Went to BGK Immigration yesterday and Non O application was accepted. They gave me back my passport and a receipt to return in 2 weeks for my Visa at Counter C. Did I misunderstand something - was I supposed to leave my passport with a different Counter yesterday? TIA

Do the Thai immigration take your passport during the visa extension waiting period for a non-o one year?

Went to Jomtien for a covid extension a couple weeks ago, 60 day TR, already did 30 day extension. Got an under consideration stamp saying to come back today (April 5). The immigration officer took my passport and copies and told me to come back on Wednesday the 7th. Just want to make sure that’s normal...couldn’t find any post mentioning them keeping your passport when closing out the under consideration stamp. Also curious how to handle not having my passport when I inevitably get stopped at a police checkpoint in the next couple days as they’ve ramped up the checkpoints with songkran coming up.

Went to Jomtien immigration today to get covid stamp after "on consideration" stamp, immigration took my passport and said come back next week. Is it ok/normal?

Advice please I have amnesty until until 31st October having paid to extend in September before amnesty was announced- went to Samui immigration to extend until end of November but they said I need to hand over my passport to them for this and it could take up to a week before it would come back - is this correct - I’ve never had to do this previously.
