Hi guys...

Does anyone had some problems with renewing new passport and transferring the stamps from the old passport to the new 1?

I'm talking about specifically on non b sigle.

I would like to hear it from people that was in this situation.

My old passport had the visa in it, when I traveled on at least 3 occasions I simply showed both passports, I had no problem.

Guys!

Today I need to decide if it's worth for me to cross the border by land.

I'm staying now in bkk...

And I would like to know if it will went smooth if I will cross the border by land? By the way (non Kai border) I must to get those stamps! Otherwise it will be very hard to fix it

The overstay charges is 500 Bhat a day so you please quickly take a bus of some of the other to get your local immigration now

respect to the immigration office ( and I have lots for them ) there's no justify reason why they didn't transferred my stamps to the new passport. I asked the officer in immigration few times... what's the problem with my visa or passport ? He just said " you better go to your local immigration ( in kho samui) and asked them🤔 I was like wtf?

That's true, they often ask me if I will take them back to San Francisco with me to visit. But tell them I don't like being away from Thai food so I have not left here in over 10 years. I've done several selfies with them as well :-)

So sorry to hear that, I've never witnessed them showing disrespect to any foreigners in 15+ years of applying for my 90 day extensions (60+ visits). Pretty amazing given how many people they process on any given day. Just be polite and wish you luck!

But it seems to be that always have some problems with their system. They trying to break down the foreigners in here!

Immigration doesn't like to explain much about problems...

They just care if u got the documents that they need. If not u they telling u to fuck off with no hard feelings what so ever

Usher Taka a bit surprised that CW did not transfer the stamps, some land border will also make some addl enquiries or ask extra. In general they view a person with a Non Immigrant B as work permit holder and they are afraid you stopped working earlier or try to evade tax issues and they not want to be that person if something comes up to have handled your passport. To which border are you planning to go today? If go via airport you'll have no problem.

 Nong Khai border will not do, you have to go to Nong Khai Immigration which is about 2km or 5minutes from border on the way to town. BTW without letter from Embassy they will not transfer.

I'm planning to cross the border at the immigration border in nonkai. It's the first that I'm renewing my passport , I've got non b single entry with work permit and all the documents.

Plus the letter from the embassy ( which I don't think will help much ) the officer at the immigration told me..

Because I'm staying in kho Samui... the immigration in kho Samui should taking responsibility on u.

IF you hold a valid VISA (that you got from a thai consulate) either a single entry or a multi-entry the immigration office won't transfer the visa.

This means if it's a multi-entry year long one you carry both passports when exiting / re-entering the country until the visa in the old passport expires.

The immigration office ONLY transfers extensions of stays and re-entry permits and notes your previous passport and visa.

I've got my new passport and the old one. But the old one canceled , today I need to cross the border in nonkai. I'm holding non b with single entry.

Well funny enough today I was told there at chaeng wattana they only transfer one year extensions over went with the form from UK embassy and the one I filled in there but was told.to go to the border with both passports will see what happens in December lol

Use the letter from the Embassy, but a Visa can not be transferred. They will put a new stamp stating what kind of Visa is used and the Admitted to Stay stamp with same date in new passport.

But the officer in the immigration told me " you better try at the borders " I was in shocked from his behavior...

I'm here in bkk and tomorrow I need to leave the country...

Any suggestions how I need to solve this problem?

Lot of stamps and wasting 1 page of the passport for 2 days. Bring both passport when you leave Thailand and you will have no problems.

My visa is about to expire on the 1th of November. And they didn't transferred my stamps to the new passport...

No issues at all. The embassy will give u cover letter for immigration. Take it to immigration and they'll transfer the visa to the new passport.

The reason why i renew my passport is because i didn't have enough pages. So that's why I renewed my passport

That's odd... I had to transfer my visa (was an Non-O Ed) to my new passport BEFORE I left the country at immigration because the border officials wouldn't let me exit with the visa in my old (no longer valid) passport.

Are both of your passports still valid or did they cut the corner off of the old one and stamp it?

And from some reason they didn't do that! They told me to do that at the borders..

And they did promised nothing about it
