Curious: I was by the lake down the road from old airport, and out of nowhere there was a Police check. About 6 police with barracade posts . They looked like they meant business. They waved me by, anybody know what they looking for ? Illegal immigrants maybe ?

Went to Jomtien for a covid extension a couple weeks ago, 60 day TR, already did 30 day extension. Got an under consideration stamp saying to come back today (April 5). The immigration officer took my passport and copies and told me to come back on Wednesday the 7th. Just want to make sure that’s normal...couldn’t find any post mentioning them keeping your passport when closing out the under consideration stamp. Also curious how to handle not having my passport when I inevitably get stopped at a police checkpoint in the next couple days as they’ve ramped up the checkpoints with songkran coming up.
