Hey guys!

Was wondering what processing times are looking like for the TR at the moment? American applying from the Los Angeles branch. Applied Nov 21, flying Dec 7th.

If my visa doesn't arrive in time I'll just enter on a 45 day stamp; but was wondering if I could still use the TR60 at a later date???

Hi, I applied for 60-Day Tourist Visa on Oct 5. It is now Oct 17 and I haven't heard anything. Still says application processing. I have emailed the US consulate with no response. My flight is Oct 23. What do I do?

I am curious about how long COE usually take to get approved. I submitted my application to the Washington DC consulate on June 8th, I was pre-approved on the 11th, and uploaded the rest of my documents on the 14. The status still says “under consideration”. I have tried emailing and calling but haven’t gotten an answer. My flight is on July 4th so I am getting a little worried.

Hi! We'll be going back to the US in a bit, and while there applying for our Non-O-over-50 visa for our return, with plans do to the retirement extension. For all that, we need to get an affidavit of our US marriage certificate notarized by the US consulate here in Chiang Mai. Gonna do that here before we leave for the US to just git 'er done. By chance, anyone have a blank online copy of the affidavit they use for that? I believe they have copies at the consulate, but was curious to have a look at it prior to our appointment at the consulate. Couldn't find one on the consulate site, just one to swear that you're not married.

Just checked (Jan 4) with the LA consulate website in USA and there is no link to apply for Non-O marriage visa online. Looks like docs are to be mailed in. Anybody has seen this recently? Thanks

For any of you that might need something notarized by the US consulate in CM for visa matters - or other matters as well - just got this in my email, once again proving that the US State Department is as useful as teats on a boar hog.

-------------

Dear U.S. Citizen,

U.S. Consulate Chiang Mai's American Citizen Services (ACS) unit is canceling all notarial appointments until further notice. We will resume routine ACS services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.

Notarial applicants can make a new appointment at that time as well.

We would like to reassure you that we will update U.S. citizens on this current situation as quickly as possible, and strongly urge you to refer to our website for the latest updates.

For questions and concerns related to an emergency, please email the ACS unit at acschn@state.gov.

Sincerely,

American Citizen Services

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

(Especially US, UK & Australian ones)

Everyone knows the news is out, the US and UK consulate will STOP issuing affidavit of income from abroad notary letters at the end of this year AND the Australian consulate will stop issuing Stat Dec notaries for income on the 7th of January 2019.

DO NOT post another thread about it. We have deleted 15-20 threads so far.

At this time <- meaning right now today, there are NO new provisions to meet the financial requirements for marriage, being over 50 (retirement) or raising half-thai children (the only extensions which would accept the affidavit of income notary letters).

While I am sure the immigration office WILL come up another way to meet the financial requirements (other than straight banked money) at this time they haven't.

I can't see any reason to let topics run wild with speculation on what they will or won't do until they actually come out with something official. Sorry.

What we do know is that after Dec 12th you can't apply for the UK consulate notary affidavit AND after Dec 31st you can't apply for the US consulate one. <- Those things are not up for discussion, they are facts :(

It appears that the consulate letters are still valid for 6 months from the date they're issued (meaning that police order has NOT been rescinded). What is not clear is whether letters issued BEFORE the end of the year will be accepted AFTER the new year or not (for the 6 months they are valid). I'm sure we'll find out soon.

FWIW: I go out to the immigration office EVERY Thursday (because I like the food court there ;) ) and I will check every time I go to see if there is any update on anything.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding during this difficult time. I will leave this thread open for discussion BUT if it gets crazy I'll shut it right down, okay? Keep it civil and keep it ON TOPIC.
