Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I’ve already emailed the Los Angeles Thai consulate & the answer didn’t make sense to me. So here goes. My husband holds a Finnish passport, I have a US passport. We live in Hawaii (USA) He is a content creator & makes a living online. We are going to be applying online with him as the person applying, me & our 3 children as his dependents. My first question is: Which consulate will be overseeing my application process? Is it Los Angeles?
My second question is, whether our bank account situation will work… September had 35k, October dipped to 4k, November 49k, & December will be 50-100k… Would like to apply asap, like end of December or early January latest… Do you think they’ll deny because of October? Should I wait till early February to apply?
If they reject due to not having the bank account having enough funds for long enough, will we have to pay the whole 2k (5 people) again when we reapply?
Both myself and my wife got the DTV in the last 2 months. Both of us used our Brokerage statements rather than a checking or savings accounts. I hear alot of misinformation here so I figured this may help somebody.
Both of us went through the DC Thai consulate and submitted Schwab Brokerage statements. She had around 50K USD in the S&P500 (VOO/SPLG) and I have around 150k in the same.
No idea if crypto or random sketchy stocks would work like GME.
Been hearing mixed reviews on submitting a brokerage vs a bank statement depending on consulate. I have 150k or so sitting in a Scheab brokerage and I decided to try it rather than sell and move it.
I’ll keep this group updated on how it goes. I submitted through the DC consulate.
Applied for evisa through New York consulate on 12/5.
On 12/12, they requested further documentation of letter of employment which I wrote for myself as I am self-employed.
On 1/9, asked for further financial documentation as my bank account was a joint (2 names) account and the wanted to see $16,000/person or $36,000 join account (USD). Submitted my investment account with stock holdings.
I emailed in February to check on my application, they responded with “your visa in on the list, please wait for approval ASAP”
Was wondering what processing times are looking like for the TR at the moment? American applying from the Los Angeles branch. Applied Nov 21, flying Dec 7th.
If my visa doesn't arrive in time I'll just enter on a 45 day stamp; but was wondering if I could still use the TR60 at a later date???
Hi, I applied for 60-Day Tourist Visa on Oct 5. It is now Oct 17 and I haven't heard anything. Still says application processing. I have emailed the US consulate with no response. My flight is Oct 23. What do I do?
I am curious about how long COE usually take to get approved. I submitted my application to the Washington DC consulate on June 8th, I was pre-approved on the 11th, and uploaded the rest of my documents on the 14. The status still says “under consideration”. I have tried emailing and calling but haven’t gotten an answer. My flight is on July 4th so I am getting a little worried.
Hi! We'll be going back to the US in a bit, and while there applying for our Non-O-over-50 visa for our return, with plans do to the retirement extension. For all that, we need to get an affidavit of our US marriage certificate notarized by the US consulate here in Chiang Mai. Gonna do that here before we leave for the US to just git 'er done. By chance, anyone have a blank online copy of the affidavit they use for that? I believe they have copies at the consulate, but was curious to have a look at it prior to our appointment at the consulate. Couldn't find one on the consulate site, just one to swear that you're not married.
Just checked (Jan 4) with the LA consulate website in USA and there is no link to apply for Non-O marriage visa online. Looks like docs are to be mailed in. Anybody has seen this recently? Thanks
