Just for information for people from the UK. I went to the Consulate in Hull to get a METV because they will still issue some Visas on a walk in basis and you get your Visa in approx 1-2 hours. Please note to have the correct paperwork as Im not joking approx 3-4 out of every 10 people didnt have the correct paperwork with missing accommodation bookings, no photographs, no bank statements no flight details etc....... I asked how long they would continue issuing Visas before they go on line and they said that they will never go on lineas that is for the Embassies only not Consulates but they do not have any idea when it will stop. They did say they are getting incredibly busy as so many people struggling with the online system and attending in person at Hull but its still open for the foreseeable future. I noticed a sign indicating certain days it will be closed though so plan these in if you are going to visit. Good Luck everyone.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Hull Consulate in the UK offers a walk-in service for obtaining a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV), typically taking around 1-2 hours. Applicants must ensure they have all required documents, as many have been turned away due to missing paperwork. The consulate does not plan to switch to an online system, contrary to some beliefs, and remains open for the foreseeable future. Attendees should confirm consulate closures on certain days before visiting, as the service is increasingly busy due to difficulties with the online application.

And how did the staff manage to keep on smiling and give a friendly service as 30 to 40% of the people did not prepare themselves. It is like those who like to spend long time in Thailand and visit un prepared the Immigration Office, i guess those 30 to 40 % of people are the ones who constantly rant and shout about how bad a Thai Consulate or Immigration is.

Thanks, we agree to disagree but as you already said: That is not up for debate.

I understand you all, don't mix things up. I'm on this page to advice, not to smooth talk you into mistakes as many of you already did make by choosing to build up a history of living inside Thailand using the incorrect visa for that purpose. And if you do not like the advice and the way Thai Immigration did set those rules, sorry, but it is what it is and I'm will not be your friend. I'm just the messenger, but you could visit an Immigration Office in your area and ask information and sit down to talk about your wishes of usage of visa.

I gave 5 photo copies and paid the fee, it was very hard, got the visa next day. I see and read people getting visa's the next day without problem, I read people getting Extension of Stay without problem, I see over 39 million tourist enter Thailand without problem. It is getting hard for those who have a difference view on common sense use of visa's.

Lets be honest here Thailand is one of the hardest countries to get a visa for nowadays and it gets tougher every month it seems. I can absolutely understand the frustration of people getting the right documents in order to get a visa.
