Hey guys!

Was wondering what processing times are looking like for the TR at the moment? American applying from the Los Angeles branch. Applied Nov 21, flying Dec 7th.

If my visa doesn't arrive in time I'll just enter on a 45 day stamp; but was wondering if I could still use the TR60 at a later date???

TLDR : Answer Summary
The processing times for the Thai Tourist Visa (TR) when applying from the Los Angeles consulate can vary. As of recent comments, some applicants reported receiving their visas within 4 to 21 business days, depending on individual circumstances and holidays. If the visa does not arrive in time, travelers can enter Thailand on a 45-day visa-exempt stamp and activate the TR visa later by re-entering the country. It's advisable to ensure all documentation, including the eVisa, is printed and checked upon arrival to avoid issues.

I applied on Oct 24 not realizing the LA website says 15 days processing.

But it was 21 days from when I applied that we received our Evisa. A day before we were scheduled to leave. There was a holiday and the weekends so maybe that’s why it was a bit slower for us.

Los Angeles kicked mine back the first time, and approved it the second time. It takes them 15 days. Make sure you print it out and give it to immigration when you land and double check the dates they stamp in your passport

you're sure cutting it tight waiting until the 21 of nov to apply with a flight Dec 7, 😮 BUT as people said, if you don't get your eVisa approved before you come here, enter on a visa exempt entry (which is now 45 days) and then you can exit/re-enter the country presenting that PDF eVisa to get stamped in for 60 days on the tourist visa

Our family received all of our visas from the consulate in Chicago in the span of about 4 business days. We did, however, call the consulate and explain to them our specific situation.

The Thai tourist visa is valid to use it for entering Thailand within 3 months from issue date.

You can, but it would entail leaving the country and re-entering to activate the TR, even if only border bouncing for a few minutes

I'm in similar situation as Shana. So you are saying that if I don't receive my 60-day tourist E-visa before my flight is due to leave that I can simply enter on a 45 day stamp, even if my R/T ticket says that I will be flying out of Thailand after 58 days?

@Chris *****
you are highly unlikely to be asked for proof of onward travel entering visa exempt unless you have an extensive entry/stay history here

Ah, good to hear. Thank you, Tod.
