I am curious about how long COE usually take to get approved. I submitted my application to the Washington DC consulate on June 8th, I was pre-approved on the 11th, and uploaded the rest of my documents on the 14. The status still says “under consideration”. I have tried emailing and calling but haven’t gotten an answer. My flight is on July 4th so I am getting a little worried.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The approval time for a Certificate of Entry (COE) to Thailand can vary. Comments indicate that while some applicants have received approval within 72 hours, others have experienced longer wait times, up to 15 days. Applicants are advised to frequently check their application status, contact the consulate, and consider using communication methods like Facebook Messenger for faster responses. Overall, approvals tend to occur closer to the travel date, often 3-5 days before a flight.

I submitted the first phase at 11am. It took 15 minutes to be approved. I submitted the second phase by 12pm and the COE email arrived at 2pm. 3 hours in total on a Friday afternoon

On Thai news today they were saying that the US govt did not encourage travel to Thailand, tho not a ban. This could impact the process times. Hope i am wrong.

COE is approved by Thailand and Thai consulates and has nothing to do with the US government. It shouldn't be affected at all.

i agree. But in the consulate world policies are discussed. As i say i hope it makes no difference.

My COE final approval took 1 week. I was nervous since it was close to my flight. So I kept calling. They finally answered the call and approved about a day later. Keep calling them.

Our situation is quite different. We are US citizens in Malaysia. We registered online last night just after midnight. At 9:20 this morning we received our pre approval. At 12:45 afternoon we submitted the rest of the documents required. At 15:00 we received our approved COE. The Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur is awesome.

I am amazed as a Thai national and aware of how desperate the nation needs foreigner to come back to Thailand and yet procedures are not simple and efficient.

You will receive it just before travel … usually 3-5 days before

They like to wait until about 3 days before your flight to issue the COE in the US. But if you want a reply, try using Facebook messenger. They are pretty good at replying there

They might be taking a bit longer. I did mine on the 15th and I still haven’t heard anything. It does say that it can take up to 15 days. I would suggest emailing the consulate or calling them.

was this for your visa or just coe, the visa can take 2-3 weeks to receive your info back, your coe should only take 72 hours..
