Can I use brokerage statements for a Thai visa application instead of a bank statement?

Both myself and my wife got the DTV in the last 2 months. Both of us used our Brokerage statements rather than a checking or savings accounts. I hear alot of misinformation here so I figured this may help somebody.

Both of us went through the DC Thai consulate and submitted Schwab Brokerage statements. She had around 50K USD in the S&P500 (VOO/SPLG) and I have around 150k in the same.

No idea if crypto or random sketchy stocks would work like GME.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers on the acceptance of brokerage statements as proof of funds for obtaining a Thai visa, specifically the DTV. Users share their experiences with different Thai consulates in the US, noting that while some consulates accepted brokerage statements, others required traditional bank account statements. The consensus highlights variability depending on the consulate, with some individuals successfully using assets in brokerage accounts, including stocks and cryptocurrencies, whereas others faced rejections.

It's the USA Thai Embassy's and Consulates which are accepting OTHER FORMS of PROOF of your having 500,000 Thai baht or more as they require on their websites.

It s not misinformation, the world does not end in US. For example i got accepted with crypto, others in other countries did not. it s just up to the embassy where you apply.

LA Consulate - they rejected my Fidelity Brokerage Statement and asked for so called "normal" Bank account statement. So it depends on Consulate.
