I have a multiple entry tourist visa. At what day should I get an extension and how does it work. For instance if I get an extension at day 45 does it only extend to day 75 or does it extend to day 90.

Hi,

Just left Immigration at the Central Festival, Chiang Mai.

Applying for a Re-entry Permit (TM8) and the officer told me that I needed to submit a copy of the TM30.

News to me - cannot find a TM30 as a required document when applying for a Re-entry Permit.

Advice please as I will be returning to Immigration tomorrow.

Regards!

Apologies if these points are covered elsewhere and thanks in advance for any useful replies:

1) having returned to chiang mai after months out of the country, on a retirement visa (UK citizen), is it still necessary to update my TM30?

2) do I (also) need to complete a TM8 re entry permit?

3) retirement visa expires in January - when is the earliest I can extend it? How long before I apply do I need to have the 800,000thb sitting in my thai bank account?

Hello all, I am just wondering what immigration will be needing in addition to the TM8 for re-entry purposes...copies of travel docs, etc...?...Thanks in advance. =)

Want to double-check, can you still get the Re-Entry permit (TM8) at Suvarnabhumi at the moment?

Not sure if it's entirely visa related, if not, I'll have to find advice on the grumpy old men website ;-).

Last year I had my NON-B visa and Work Permit cancelled and extended for a year based on retirement by an agent in Koh Phangan. Now this year they asked for 35'000THB to extend my extension. They didn't want any certification of income, residence, etc... (he still has it from last year I was told) but they told me, it's not possible to do it in Koh Samui and they have to do it in Pattaya 🤔

So my question, I filled out my TM7, TM8, TM47, I have bank letter and statement of my savings in my Thai bank account, I have medical check-up certificate and Thai health insurance certificate. The only thing I don't have is a Police Clearance from my home country as I have not lived there for 30 years.

If you do it by yourself and have done it in Koh Samui, a bit of guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance and a happy, prosperous New Year to everyone.

I went to Bangkok Immigration today to purchase a Multiple-entry permit (TM8). Got there when the office opened after lunch and was out of there at 2:30pm. It actually would have taken less than 90 minutes but I got my number (C264), went to the copy center, ate lunch, and did some shopping. When I got back I missed my number. Had to get another (C297). Still "only" 90 minutes.

A final summary on my retirement based one year extension of stay obtained at Phuket Immigration in August 2018...

It was pretty much easy, but it seems there are a few new little changes/tweaks to be aware of. Ones I wasn't told about, so maybe they are not new tho...

The attached photo checklist by another member for the Extension of Stay application at Room 1.03 was a great start. But I would make one small change to it now, at least for me...

And that is that I was required to also provide a photocopy of my credit card (front only) and signed of course. Because my card was black it was virtually illegible but that was still acceptable, I still don't know why it was requested tho...

Additionally, after paying 1900 baht and having the digital photo taken, I was told the TM7 documents and passport had to be left for pickup the next day, even tho I had seen the immigration officer put all the required stamps, dates and signatures in the passport and on the application to grant the Extension of Stay. So I was just a little surprised...

One more piece...

I also wanted to get a multiple use Re-entry Permit. However I found that they would not process the TM8 at the same time as the TM7 application.

No real problem, so when I returned and easily picked up mg passport I went around to Room 1.01. There I got caught out just a little bit as I didn't know what documents were required to support the TM8.

A quick bit of advice from the Farang helper, three signed photocopies later of passport details and biometric page, current extension of stay, and TM6 departure card from just outside and I was in the queue. Less than 15 minutes later and 3800 baht paid and I was out of there smiling happily...
