I want do a visa run to laos using fb4 chiang khong->huay xai. I'm going to drive my scooter from chiang Mai to the border. I've gotten conflicting information about if you can re-enter immediately or need to stay 1 or 2 nights, so I'm not sure if I should bring my scooter across. I'm on a muay thai soft power dtv, this will be my second entry. Will I be asked for supporting paperwork? Proof of ongoing classes? Proof of funds? Any and all advice is a appreciated if you've done a similar trip recently.
PDR Lao implementing online Arrival/Departure system
The Lao authorities have introduced mandatory electronic forms for foreigners: they must be filled out not only before entering, but also before leaving the country
The new digital arrival and departure cards will replace traditional paper immigration forms.
The electronic form must be filled out at [[www.immigration.gov.la](www.immigration.gov.la)]([members only]) no earlier than 3 days before arrival and departure from the country - there you must indicate passport details, visa information, purpose of travel and address of stay in Laos.
After filling out the form, a QR code will be generated, which must be shown at the border - it will be valid for 3 days.
At this time the digital card will only be required at the airports of Vientiane, Luang Prabang, Pakse and on the First Laos-Thai Friendship Bridge, connecting Vientiane and Nong Khai Province in Thailand. There are plans to roll out the system country-wide in 2026.
I entered Thailand already a few times since November 2023 via BKK.
My visa is now until 1st of Feb. I am staying in Koh Phangan. As I planned to stay here 4 months I am thinking about doing a visa run to get another 60days before doing extension to 90days and visarun.
not exactly a thai visa question but i have a ticket in a passenger van from bangkok to siem reap in a few days, first time in Cambodia…anyone ever done this? Do I need an e visa ahead of time or can I get one at the border? Anything else I need other than my passport? Passport is American
The window with big letter 24 HR ATM service is the place to get the application form for Visa on Arrival. office moved into the old bank office but the signs did not move yet.
Got the visa stamped into Laos, walked in, turned left to leave. You are in overtime, you pay fine!!
After 16:00 they call it overtime, it took 2 officers to convince me, but a new sign did explain that.
Walked to the bus stop where a nice officer told me this way, one immigration booth is gone, but the floor is still 10 cm up. Walk his way, the short cut, take care, i dived all over the place and have blue knees to remember.
Thai immigration, fingerprinting again, 4 fingers both hands and then 2 thumbs. 90 days stay as normal with the 1 year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O visa based on marriage.
Hi, I am in Bangkok with my family, wife and 2 young kids. I am waiting for some work things to pan out, and Thailand is an affordable place to do so. We are here on 30 day visas. We extended once in the country and we had set up a private border run with a company called SWD Visa run, They told us to just contact them a bit before we needed to go. I have contacted them and they just let me know that they are too busy and can't do it. Now I am looking for options. This is our first run. They were nice enough to tell us the crossing they use, and that we could rent a car ourselves, I have just never done it. The border is to Myanmar. Any tips on what I could/should do would be a great help! Thanks!
Hi, Next month I will be traveling to Malaysia, I know when I come back in Thailand I have 24 hours to report to the immigration but from the Southern border (Betong) I will have 4 days traveling to reach my home Betong, Hat Yai, Ao Nang and Phuket. Is it a problem? Shall I keep the hotels invoice on the way back to show to the immigration? Thanks
I have arrived from UK on a METV on 19/11/18. I live in Bangkok in my rented Condo with my Thai girlfriend (soon to be my wife).
I intend to extend my initial 60day with an extra 30days by going to Bangkok Immigration before the end of this year (never been before as always used 30 day visa).
Could I ask were is best immigration office to go to and what do I need to take with me.
After 90 days from 19/11/18 I will be in Issan so I will attend a border crossing at Cambodia. This gives me another 60 days taking me to mid April 2019. I then can go to immigration to obtain another 30 days taking me to option 2 below.
What are my options from here....
1. I will have had my village wedding in February so can I apply for my marriage visa?
2. I am visiting UK in May 2019 with my wife (subject to her getting a travel visa for about 3 weeks). Is it better to get another METV in UK before I return to Thailand
3. Any other option, I am 54yrs old
Many thanks for reading this, I just wish to make sure I haven’t missed anything
