What is the current border crossing procedure from Savannakhet to Mukdahan for UK passport holders?

With regards to the earlier border bounce post to Savennaket and back to Mukdahan. I am currently in Savannkhet having done over this morning, the only difference is on the Thai departure side as UK passport holder they filled out a medical questionnaire and took my temperature and took photos of my passport and the scanner so they matched. The staff said this will happen again tomorrow when I return back to Mudkahan. It's a bit confusing because when you go to do this the office is at the arrival side before the immigration counters, So allow extra time for this process
