Border crossing at Chiang Khong information please.
I have a one year, multiple entry Non O and must leave Thailand and return to get another 90 day stamp. If you have recently made the crossing at Chiang Khong would you mind sharing a few details? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeking information on crossing the border at Chiang Khong with a one-year, multiple-entry Non O visa received a response indicating that recent reports are limited due to post-covid extensions. However, a recent crossing experience shared noted that the process resembled pre-covid operations, including stamping out of Thailand, paying a small fee to cross, obtaining a Lao visa on arrival, and successfully re-entering Thailand.

Face it with covid extensions having just run out most people haven't needed to border bounce yet so there are not that many reports.
I'd say post on a Chiang Mai specific group as those are the people needing to use that Chiang Khong / Huay Xia border in Chiang Rai because it's the closest place to bounce out and back with burma still closed.
I talked to someone who was at that border a week or so ago. They said it was like it was pre-covid and they had no issues, You stamp out of thailand, pay 20 baht to get taken across, buy the lao visa on arrival, stamp in and out come back to thailand stamp back in to thailand
