ok cool, I found that one as well…will they make show a ticket out of the country as well? Should I just buy the cheapest bus ticket out of town?
Also wondering what to do once the boat lands in chau doc…is it a cool town, worth spending the night? Or should I just hop right on the bus to Ho Chi Minh?
got it, thanks…as long as we’re on the subject, any idea what a typical short term single entry Vietnam tourist visa should cost me? I found a website that looked legit but is charging $99 for one and that seems a bit rip-offy to me
hey so I wanted to follow up on this, I’m tryin to apply for my Vietnam visa and it’s been a huge pain…if I take the boat to chau doc what’s my port of entry? They need to know it and chau doc is not an option I can select
I see the confusion now…previously I said I’m taking a van in the same context as taking a bus, I thought that was clear but now I see how it could also be perceived as I have a van, and am attempting to bring the whole thing to Cambodia…anyway yeah, fixed it
Alright so update, I decided to go ahead and try for the e-visa but I’ve reached an impasse, need to know port of entry into Cambodia and it doesn’t say that anywhere in the ticket, just says straight from Bangkok to virak buntam bus branch in siem reap…someone said likely going through poi pet, should I just put that? What are the consequences if I guess wrong? I can try asking the company but they’re slow to respond, might not get the visa in time if I wait out their answer…what happens if I just have to get the visa at the border? I just pay more or will they turn me away?
ticket says khao San travel mart office to virak buntam siem reap bus branch…doesn’t say what port of entry is, but def says it goes all the way to siem reap. Also says e-visa is accepted, so I guess I’ll just go ahead and apply and get it done
well the boat sounds lovely and I’ll try to follow up on that…as for the van ride, tickets already paid for, I’m down to my last bit of budget here so it was truly necessary, but I’ll get the e-visa if it helps…I thought I was being clear but I changed the post to clarify that it’s not my van, it’s a passenger service, I bought a ticket, gave them passport info, all that…reputable company, I’ve been using them to get around Thailand with no issue, just need to check on what the extra stuff is involved to get to Cambodia
