Could someone please advise if I am correct....

I have arrived from UK on a METV on 19/11/18. I live in Bangkok in my rented Condo with my Thai girlfriend (soon to be my wife).

I intend to extend my initial 60day with an extra 30days by going to Bangkok Immigration before the end of this year (never been before as always used 30 day visa).

Could I ask were is best immigration office to go to and what do I need to take with me.

After 90 days from 19/11/18 I will be in Issan so I will attend a border crossing at Cambodia. This gives me another 60 days taking me to mid April 2019. I then can go to immigration to obtain another 30 days taking me to option 2 below.

What are my options from here....

1. I will have had my village wedding in February so can I apply for my marriage visa?

2. I am visiting UK in May 2019 with my wife (subject to her getting a travel visa for about 3 weeks). Is it better to get another METV in UK before I return to Thailand

3. Any other option, I am 54yrs old

Many thanks for reading this, I just wish to make sure I haven’t missed anything

🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) in Thailand and exploring options for a marriage visa after their wedding. They plan to visit the immigration office in Bangkok for a 30-day extension and are inquiring about the requirements for applying for a marriage visa, travel plans to the UK, and other visa options suitable for their situation. The advice includes details about the process at the Bangkok immigration office, potential marriage registration requirements, and suggestions for applying for a Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa in the UK.

I would say while you're back in the UK, you could apply for a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa based on being over 50 from the thai consulate in London.

To get that visa you do not need to bank any money here in thailand (you use your account in the UK to show proof of funds). The visa is good for a year from the date it's issued, is unlimited entry to the country with each entry getting you stamped in for a whole new year for the validity of the visa.

Hands down it is the best visa to have BUT you get it in your country BEFORE you come here. It can't be gotten here..

This tells you about the visa

Another question, sorry..... When I go to Bangkok Immigration to extend my METV for 30 days, do I just need a filled out TM7, Passport Photo, THB1900, and photocopies of: Passport main page, last visa (METV), passport page showing stamp into Thailand, TM6 departure card.

Could I ask 1 more question please. Above you said it would be better for me to apply in the UK for a multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa in London, which is fine. Would it be ok to apply for another METV instead, as I live only 5 miles from the Thai Consul in Hull, England.

Thank you again so much, your time and help is so much appreciated 🙏😁

Depending on the border crossing you use in Cambodia you should be able to bounce out&back in to get another 60 day entry on your METV. Some borders make you stay 24 hours in Cambodia AND don't forget you'd need to buy a visa-on-arrival to get stamped in and out of cambodia.

Thank you, in my village there will be a guy (from UK) who is married to my future wife’s auntie, near LahanSai, he is taking me as he has done this bounce before 😁

You CANNOT apply for a "marriage visa" based only on a "village wedding". :/ <- that's just a ceremony that means nothing legally :O

In order to GET married you'd need to get the affirmation of freedom to marry notary from your consulate, get it translated into thai, get it certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office then go register your wedding at the local apmhur.

Yes sorry, I forgot to mention this bit. I have my affirmation done, just need it translated into Thai (also aware of the other points you mentioned) I intend to do all this after my ‘unofficial’wedding ceremony in February 2019 before I go to UK in May 2019, but thank you so much for making sure I was aware, sorry I forgot to mention in original post 🙏

There is only ONE immigration office you can use in Bangkok and it's out at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road.

There are copy shops in the basement that can make your copies, take photos or fill out the form for you.
