Hi all,

Just entered the country on a new visa type yesterday. From what I understand TM30 needs to be filed within 24 hours.

Owner of my place doesn’t know anything.

Last time they informed me at Chaeng Watthana that I could ask juristic office of my building to help me but they are also absolutely confused.

Do I have to go to Chaeng Watthana today to do the self filing?

Are there any other penalties/risks if not reporting the address? Cost of a round trip with taxi will be as much as the fine and I won’t lose another day sitting around there.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently entered Thailand on a new visa and is confused about the TM30 reporting requirement, which must be filed within 24 hours. Their landlord is uninformed about the process, and attempts to seek help from the juristic office of their building have also been unhelpful. They inquire whether they must go to Chaeng Watthana to file the TM30 themselves and express concern about potential penalties for not reporting their address on time. Various commenters provide insights, suggesting options like filing by post or online, and point out that the late filing fine is 800 baht.

Either mail it to them, or, if your next move is to leave the country, then feel reassured that no one is going to check ;)

Are you staying at a condo, house, hotel? You can self file a TM30 in Bangkok if you bring your rental contract. The late fine at CW is 800 baht. If you are planning to go CW this late in the day you will probably be there for a while.

Benjamin Hays That is between him and his landlord. I offered to pay but my landlord went to CW and paid herself. She apply for the online registration but it was still pending after several weeks.

Just a heads up, if he's renting, he can deduct the fine on the next month's rent.
