I wanted to do my tm47, and imo asked for tm30…. As I just moved in with my girlfriend, Nobody did tm30. Now what to do? Who should do it. Anybody with same problem?

What even worries me more is that I will have to go through this, every time I leave bkk for a couple of days..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is dealing with the complications of filing a TM30 after moving in with their girlfriend. They were not aware that the TM30 needed to be filed upon moving and are uncertain about the process, seeking advice from others who have faced similar issues. Several comments suggest that the girlfriend or the rental owner should file the TM30 online, and first-time TM47 reports may need to be done in person. Additional tips are provided regarding the immigration process and the importance of keeping records.

Update: tm47 on internet still pending, so I went to immigration . All fine now. Imo however said that Next time, I have to do tm30 myself in person, if I move province. Apparently they don’t like that I did my visa in chonburi, and tm47 in bkk……. God knows why. She even insisted that I would do my visa extension in bkk this time….. I told her that I might be in chiang mai by then….p.s. I was not fined for being late with tm30 😅.
John *******
It’s 1500 baht fine - pay it at immigration.

@John ******
that is really helpful. Immigration will than do tm47 and tm30 ? Better refrain from commenting in the future……..

I’ll comment about what I like, thanks. The discussion was about TM30. I paid my house owner’s (wife) fine for that at CM immigration. Maybe YOU should try restricting yourself to useful input and not be quite such a mouthy **** 😀

i did not ask about the fine of 800-1600. Probably still frustrated about the fine? Stay happy and Good night to you…

Where do you live? Do a TM-30 there. Use the online system to do your 90 Day Reports. Doesn't matter where you are when you do the online 90 Day Report. No one asks for a TM-30 when you do a 90 Day Report online.

I understand that the first tm47 has to be done in person. Subsequent can be done online. Correct?

I just tried. Let’s see if it worked. Keep you posted.

It took about 24 hours for my application for an account was approved. Then signed on, filed the report and received approval later that same day. I think the speed of the process depends on how busy your immigration office is as I think they manually approve things. Good luck.

thanks 🙏. I’m on 90+4 as we speak 😅

@Luc *******
yes, correct. Although no harm tying the new system even the first time.

The previous system needed you to enter the TM-6 arrival/departure card number. Of course that number changed with every entry. The new system doesn't ask for that number so worth a try even with a new entry.

I have NEVER had luck with on line reporting. Is there a new site? Any tips?
George *************
You have to apply to get an account, one time only, thereafter login to you account and file the 90 day report. It's a new system as of December. It worked for me a few weeks ago. Filed report was approved the same day.

My GF is actually in tears now…. Why should it all be so complicated…. Guess government doesn’t want me here, except for booking hotels, and spending money 😭
Bobby ********
Luc Segers. And the other thing to remember, when you go to another province use your gf's ID when checking in to a hotel 😆

@Bobby *******
very good tip 🙏
Bobby ********
Luc Segers. I do it whenever possible. Many hotels are happy to accept it as it means they don't have to go through the process of filing the s.38

@Luc *******
. Just get the app up and running. It's so easy. I go to Phuket once a month and I have to do it every time. Takes about 90 seconds.

we’ll see if imo is happy as well with everything. I should visit them latest Friday (90+6) , unless I get a positive response from my tm47 online attempt. 😂.

Keep you posted 😅
Bobby ********
Luc Segers. If it's listed it's been accepted. You can screenshot the display and print it to take with you just in case, bit it'll be on their system, with your name, passport number and TM6 number. And that saved you the hike to immigration

You gf can register on the system and request a user name if she has a lease etc. Then she can add your details once she has access. Worked for us in Bangkok

I thought one can only register as owner. She is renting the condo.

This is the result so far. No confirmation yet..

I don’t know how to resize a pdf on an iPhone 😅, but first steps done.

1: GF downloaded app and is totally stressed

2: pdf created (2.6MB)

3: Trying to keep GF smiling….

@Luc *******
a tip, before she loads her documents, convert the multiple JPEG images (of her lease etc) into a single multi page PDF. And keep the file size small
Steve *******
@Luc *******
Your girlfriend can file the tm30 for you if she has a copy of the owners ID and registration book.
Lyndon ************
@Steve ******
we thought the same, but only needed to use my gf's lease and Thai ID and didn't need to involve the owner of the condo building
Lavinia *******
The owner of your rental has to file it for you, she/he can do it online or go personally. You'll need the receipt from the owner after it's done

@Lavinia ******
doesn’t look like she is willing to do so…

Officially and practically, the responsibility to report the stay of a foreigner rests with the host: the landlord of a property, the hotel or the service apartment. Delayed or late reporting of a foreigner can be penalized with 800 THB to 1,600 THB per person (normally the penalty does not exceed that amount, even if your landlord reports months too late).

This is from the thaiembassy.com website...
Bobby ********
@Lavinia ******
. Yes that's true, but invariably it's the tenant who ends up paying the fine
Steve *******
Pay the fine and get your girlfriend to file tm30.

she is not the owner, and rents indirectly from the condo management. I read that only owners can get a username and password for the app. Is that incorrect?
Steve *******
@Luc *******
She needs the owners ID and registration book to file the tm30 or just get the condo management to register you.
Luc ********

@Steve ******
the condo management should do, I agree…. Specially because I was there when she signed the rental contract…. Keep you posted on the outcome.

I was unable to find the post, but to be honest…. Going to immigration every time I leave bkk for a couple of days, to go through the paperwork, travel to immigration, to do it myself, when there are better solutions…. No thank you…. My retirement should be on the beach, not at immigration office 😂

Luc I tagged Tob because I was hoping he could show you the post. Idk where it is. As for filing a TM30, you only need to do it once for as long as you live at that address. You can come and go as many times as you want, as long as you live there you can use the receipt for 10 years.

Luc Segers. In that case either get a VPN or do it on a computer

@Luc *******
In Bangkok you can self file your TM30.
