Hello everyone!

I am a DTV holder and I’m looking to apply for a Certificate of Residence in Thailand and would appreciate any insights or tips.

• What documents do I need to prepare?

• Where should I go to submit my application?

• Any advice on the process or potential challenges?

Thanks in advance for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A DTV holder in Thailand seeking a Certificate of Residence should prepare necessary documents including a TM30 form, passport photo page, visa page, and possibly a passport-sized photo as per the local immigration office's requirements. Applications should be submitted to the local immigration office where you reside, with a processing fee typically around 300 baht. It's advised to wait until you've been in Thailand for at least three months to ensure eligibility.

At Phuket immigration you take the TM30. Fill in the form. Photo copy passport photo page, visa page and stamp. I can't remember if they now require a passport size photo. One time I needed the photo, the next time I didn't. You pay 300 baht. It took about 30 minutes each time I did it

Wait until you have stayed 3 month in Thailand, and have a steady adress, then you will qualify as a resident in Thailand as well as other countrys.

Residence certificate is obtained from the immigration office serving your area. You'll need to ensure a TM30 has been filed for you where you stay. You can pay a fee to have it quicker, otherwise it's a couple weeks

alternatively use and agency. Immigration where I live didn’t want to give it to me on my type of visa so I went to pattaya. Never stepped foot in an office

Something around 300-500 Baht "Express fee" each, at the Immigration. By law it's free of charge, but then you have to wait. If you use an agent you will find yourself somewhere between 1,000 and 2,000 Baht.
