Hello, I have one simple question about the DTV if anyone can help please :
Do you think we need to apply from our country of residence ? or from any thai embassy ?
If we are visiting another country and applying from there, what kind of document prooving current location can we provide ?
Thanks a lot π Amandine Mas.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa can generally be applied for at Thai embassies outside of your country of residence, such as in neighboring countries like Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. When applying from another country, you may need to provide documentation to prove your current location, such as a passport entry stamp and hotel accommodation. However, it's important to verify the specific requirements with the embassy of the country you are in, as policies can differ. Additionally, processing times may vary; for instance, Cambodia has recently increased its processing time to 6 days.
One thing to consider though, Cambodia has increased itβs visa processing time to 6 days, starting the same day the DTV came out. Not sure how long other embassies are taking, but you might need to plan to stay over a week whenever you go to process it

You should check with the embassy of the country you are visiting, some countries allows it some donβt. Normally the embassy website states it

You can apply in person from some Thai Embassies you are not resident in e.g. Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, Hong Kong. Documents proving location will vary among the embassies. Laos uses your passport stamp of entry and hotel accommodation.
