TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about experiences with obtaining a certificate of residence in Bangkok or Pattaya on a Destination Thai Visa (DTV). Responses indicate that in Bangkok, one can only obtain the certificate after completing their first 90-day report, regardless of visa type. In contrast, obtaining a certificate in Pattaya seems more flexible, as it has been successfully done with exempt stamps and tourist visas.

In Bangkok, you can only get a residence certificate after you've filed your first 90 day report. It doesn't matter what type of visa you have.
