TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the difficulties and increasing costs associated with bringing a Thai spouse to the U.K. for residency. Comments touch on the rising financial burdens of obtaining visas and citizenship, comparisons with other countries like Australia, and frustrations about the different treatment of British citizens wanting to bring non-U.K. spouses compared to other immigration cases. There is also a mention of the persistent hurdles and human rights concerns faced by families in these situations.

that's not shocking - the fact that they're using both Facebook colours & fonts for an official government ministry in the airport - that is shocking!

The cost of bringing foreign wives to England has been going up each year for quite some time now, same as it has to become a British citizen

Australia is just as bad unfortunately. 6-7k Australian dollars to apply without a guarantee of visa & no refund if refused. I moved to Thailand & couldn't be happier.

And no guarantee of visa, yet, we import the destitute & impoverished, whilst, we let our elderly citizens suffer! Not right in my books.

Again and again with the hurdles ...this never gets any press. The human rights of those families 100% non British are paraded front and centre, anyone raises a complaint 'racist' is thrown around ...but British citizens marry someone from another country they are expected to shut up and take it .What about our human right to a family?
