TM30 Advice please

We are currently back in the UK for a short period. We both hold currently Non OA Visa. When we return to Thailand at the end of August we will be moving into a property to house sit for some Thai friends of ours. We won’t actually be paying rent. The problem we have is that the friends will have left Thailand to start their new jobs in America so won’t be in the country. They say they can leave a signed copy of a TM30 and photocopy of the house book. Do you think this will be satisfactory for when we do our first report within 24 hours of arriving?? Thank you in advance for the advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks advice on filing the TM30 form after returning to Thailand with a Non OA Visa, as the authors will be house-sitting for friends who will not be present. They inquire whether a signed TM30 form and a photocopy of the house book from their friends, who are in America, will suffice for their initial report within 24 hours of arrival. Community members respond with varying requirements depending on the Immigration Office, emphasizing the need for additional documentation, including ID copies and the owner's signature. They also discuss the differences between the TM30 and the 90-day reporting process.

In phuket that would not work. If landlord is not present they also require a stamped 'power of attorney' from them. I did it this morning.

the title is wrong it's not a certificate of residence it's for filing the TM.30 form. ;) But in Phuket that's what you do to self file it :)

Phuket is the one that IF the land lord isn't going to go and file the TM.30 for you they make you do this

Thank you all so much for your advice. Just another quick supplementary question. When we do our second and subsequent 90 days reporting will we need all of the documents or just a filled in TM30 only? And if we go out of the country and return home to Thailand how much of that paperwork will we need. Thanks once again.

90-day report and TM30 are two different things. When you enter the Kingdom with a visa, you need to do a TM30. Every time you come back to the Kingdom on the same visa, of which you will have to extend every year, you will have to report back to the immigration office with your passport.

As for 90-day report, that means you have to report yourself IF you stay in the Kingdom continuously for 90 days. You will report to the same immigration office but different section.

Thanks, in Khon Kaen you only need the form filled in, copy ID card and house book of the owner all signed by the owner. Just did this 15 days ago.

I think everyone should wait until the O/P reports back on where the house IS in thailand before people start offering out sage advice :O

For all we know they're going to be in an area where the TM.30 isn't required at all.

It all depends on which Immigration Office you need to report.
