Hello Everyone,

I have a question about staying in compliance with the TM 30

I Have about 6 months left on my extension.

non o based on retirement multiple entry.

I have been out of Thailand traveling for about 5 months now.

I ended the lease on a rental house the last time I was in Thailand and I am planning on living in a different province when I return in a few weeks.

Upon returning to Thailand I plan to stay one night at a hotel in Bangkok and then take a bus to another province where I will stay in a hotel until I can find a condo or apartment to rent as soon as possible.

Can the hotels report my stay to Immigration and print copy of the TM 30 for me to keep?

Is that all that is necessary until I rent a condo and the landlord files a TM 30 ?

Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around TM30 compliance for expats returning to Thailand on a Non-O visa based on retirement. The user plans to stay at a hotel upon return and inquires if the hotels can register their stay and provide a TM30 copy, and whether this suffices until they find long-term accommodation. Comments clarify that hotels are required to submit TM30 forms and that a receipt can be requested for confirmation. It is reiterated that as long as the latest TM30 is filed, the prior ones are not necessary until close to the 90-day report.

The hotel will file a TM30 for you as they'll do with all their guests, but why would you want to keep the receipt? You say you want to go to another province and rent something there. Your landlord there will have to do a TM30 there anyways, whether you need it for anything or not. I wouldn't bother taking a receipt of a TM30 for a one night stay from somewhere.

You'll really only need the latest/last TM30 filed to be in compliance.

You will not need a TM30 until close to when your 90 day report is due so don't worry until then unless you need Immigration services before then

Yes that’s all that’s necessary. The hotels are obligated to register your TM.30 and most hotels do it online when you check in and you can ask for a receipt/confirmation.
