Do I Need Health Insurance for Retirement Extensions in Thailand After Having a Non-B Visa?

ORIGINAL POSTER
Another question on health insurance for retirement extensions (sorry). I was working here with a non-B visa and then moved to a retirement extension at Chaeng Wattana Immigration. The original non-B visa is stamped “VOID” but there is no mention of any new visa type in my passport. I’m coming up to the expiry of my second retirement extension soon.

Has anyone in this situation tried to renew an extension since 1 Nov and if so was insurance required?

Thanks for any advice / information

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about health insurance requirements for renewing a retirement extension after transitioning from a non-B visa to a retirement extension. Responses indicate that health insurance is not required for those who do not hold an OA visa, clarifying that since the user does not possess this visa type, they are exempt from the insurance requirement.

NO health insurance required...ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN O-A visa...which you do not.

You are not on an OA visa, or an extension of an OA visa, therefore you do not require health insurance. For mandatory health insurance to be required you must have originally purchased an OA visa in your home country. You didn’t, so your fine.
