What date should I use for my arrival in Thailand when filling out the TM47 online form if I've changed my visa status?

Hi Ellie and Tod

Sorry to bother you again, but I again can’t find the information online. I’m filling out my first TM47 online, it is asking for arrival date in Thailand, which was Feb 17th but I got an extension of stay inside Thailand when I switched from tourist to O visa extension on May 11th. Do I write my arrival date to Thailand as February then or May, as February looks like I’ve been here way past my 90 days already, I’m not sure what to do. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The arrival date you should enter on the TM47 form is the date you first entered Thailand, which in your case is February 17th. Even though you changed your visa status to a NON-O visa on May 11th, the 90-day reporting requirement is based on your initial entry date (February). If your status has changed, ensure you follow up on any necessary extensions or reports due based on your current visa.

The 90 day report isn’t linked to whatever visa you’re on . It’s due I believe 89 days from the day you arrive in Thailand . Arrival day is day one .

Immigration will give you a paper in your passport telling you when to do the 90 day report.

, that is partially correct. The first 90 days count starts when you apply for a long-term extension, not the arrival date. When you are already on a long-term extension, it's right the arrival is day one for 90 days counting.

interesting . I was assuming the person had a previous year extension granted . But , I was always under the impression that obtaining a year extension inside Thailand after an initial tourist visa didn’t reset the 90 day clock ? They are separate ?

, a tourist visa is not eligible for 90 days reporting. The first 90 days report counting starts when you apply for a 1-year extension after you applied for an initial in-country visa. OP said she entered as a tourist, so she should have applied for an in-country visa first.

ok perfect, so it’s my May date from extension, that makes sense. Thanks again Ellie 🙏

Arrival date is the date you entered Thailand on whatever status.

BUT, you said you entered Thailand as a tourist (tourist visa or visa-exempt entry) in February and changed to Non-O on May 11th. It means you applied for the initial in-country Non-O visa and you are still on the first 90 days from the in-country visa until 8 August. If so, now you have to apply for a yearly extension, not 90 days report. Or have you already applied for 1-year extension after an in-country Non-O visa?

The very first 90 days report counting starts when you apply for the extension from Non-imm visa stamp. Check your stamps now, or send/post your stamps so that we can say for sure when you need to do your extension or 90 days report.

actually you are correct, my mistake, I actually applied for the Non - O first 90 days online outside of Thailand NOT tourist visa.
