Can you help?

I’m on a 12 month Visa extension with multiple entry. I was meant to do my 90day report on 25th but was also due to leave that day for the UK. However my flight was cancelled due to the adverse weather but I haven’t reported, as my new flight leaves tomorrow.

So im technically now four days late. What happens as a result?
Answer summary
If you are late on your 90-day report by a few days while on a 12-month visa extension, the consequences are generally minimal. Typically, you may face a fine of 2,000 baht if noticed during your next interaction with immigration. You can submit your report up to 7 days late without incurring fines, and it seems that if your departure was impacted by circumstances like a cancelled flight, it may be beneficial to have evidence of this. The reporting routine resets on your re-entry to Thailand, giving you a fresh 90-day period without additional reports required until that time.

John Harvey I could but I just see it as a waste of time. My home town is Kalasin and I’d have to queue for ever as I’m in Pattaya and leaving the country tomorrow. So I’ll see what happens when I return. Say nothing is the best option now 555

Nothing you can report a week late anyway and resets when you return

and exactly why did you not update/renew the 90 day reporting before you left thailand?

you can do it 14 days before the expiration. any visa service will do it for you. the visa service that go my Non O visa does it ever 90 days for 100bht and i just drop my passport to them.

then if you flight was delayed, canceled or whatever you know you have about a 3 month window and NO worries/

so leaving on your expiration date was the choice? not thinking exactly things can be delayed? (not hating, just 'saying).

when you leave by flight, my understanding is the 90 days resets. since when you go through immigration and you are three days late or so: i do not know.

they will not detain you (i do not think) but a fine? i simply do not know.

the worst of these situations since you did not update the 90 day. you do NOT know.

it is their immigration. hopefully some of the comments below are valid/real and or you do not get an immigration officer to pull some regulation out of their rear end on being late on 90s days and exiting the country?

Vincent Calderone I think you’ve answered all the questions you asked in your response but for clarity, I was leaving on the day my first 90 day report was due and didn’t expect the exceptional circumstances that came about due to the dramatic weather. My mindset said it would save a trip to immigration, as it was not needed. As a novice and with the help of some research and proactive comments on here, I am far more knowledgeable and perhaps I won’t be such a rebel in the future. However, you never know, I like living life on the edge. Have a great day

Lester Housley OK. understood. maybe you are unaware: most visa fascinators (visa service) will go to immigration for you. most, if you used them for your visa do it for free OR about 100 bht.

if not, from what i hear they charge 500 bht if you are not one of their customers. they sit for an hour and you just pick it up.

i was just saying "why" risk it on the day your are leaving thing. i understand your thoughts and comment

Nothing....90 day reporting you can go upto two weeks early or 1 week late

I once intentionally NOT doing 90-day report at all for a while duration of my visa pemitted until the week where i need to extend it for another year. I ended up paying a fine for 2.000 baht and nothing else. So yes, if you are already late 1 day for 90-day report, dont bother yourself with it all until your next appointment for visa extension. The fine is always 2000 baht regardless you late 1 minute or 360 days.

Johan_Budiotso Not 1 day late, 8 days late. You can submit it from 14 days early to 7 days late without a fine. But once you hit day 8, the fine is the same whether you are 8 days late or 8 months late. No reason to rush to pay a fine that you can just pay next time you are already going to immigration.

Hi Lester, if I was you I would report to immigration within 24 hours of your return, This will insure your TM30 is done, and explain what happened if they do question it. I don’t think you’ll have any problems

Lester Housley, et.al.: You're on a 12-month extension of stay. That aside, you might want to have some evidence to show that you were scheduled to leave on time but the flight was cancelled. Might be helpful if the issue is raised when you depart. And next time, if you're going to cut things this close again, you might want to do the 90-day report a few days ahead of time to be on the safe side.

Michael Parker you can only do it online 15 -7 days before due date, it says on the website. With good luck 4 days before due but surely not on the due day or after

Your worst case scenario is 2k fine and a scolding look down from the officer.

When you enter back, the countdown restart and you’ll have 90 days free of reporting.

Nothing much will happen. If your immigration office notices that you didn't file the next time you interact with them you will get fined 2k baht
