What paperwork is necessary for applying for a Non-O and ED visa for my child at the Thai consulate in Malaysia?

Good Morning,

I hope isn't too much to ask but I'm afraid I'll arrive in Malaysia and not have all the correct paperwork.

I'm applying for an ED visa for my 5 year old who attends a Thai school. Samui immigration gave me a list of requirements of paperwork that i'll need from the school. Unfortunately it's in Thai so I need to trust that the school has given me the correct papers;

I'll be applying for a non- O so I need a bank statement for the last month plus a letter from the bank guaranteeing my balance (?) , Immigration told me a letter from my bank - i'm not sure what it should be stating, I assume the bank knows;

From my landlord i'll need a copy of his blue house book plus a copy of the house contract. (information received from this group a few weeks back);

Birth certificates;

and is this it?

It would be quite awful if I arrive in Penang with my baby and little girl after so many hours of travelling to be told I don't have all the necessary paperwork.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is well- informed and feeling helpful :)

TLDR : Answer Summary

They mention specific documents needed, including a bank statement and a birth certificate, and express concern about potentially lacking required documentation upon arrival. Various comments from the community provide insights into the required documents based on visa requirements at the Thai consulate.

Although this is the requirements for the thai consulate in Kuala Lumpur about Non-O's and ED visas I believe it should be close to what Penang would want to see.

Go under the premise that the school gave you the correct documentation to get your child's 90 day Non-ED visa

You as the parent to get a 90 day Non-O visa will need the birth certificate, proof of funds from your bank (just the bank book updated before you go should be enough)

You don't need a bank letter, you don't need anything from your land lord, you don't need your lease, <- that's all stuff you need INSIDE the country to get an extension at the immigration office.

You are confusing what is required to get an extension of stay inside of thailand from an immigration office with what is required to get a VISA from a thai consulate in another country. They are not the same things at all. :/

What thai consulate are you going to get the visas from in Malaysia?
