Hello all.

I have looked online but found conflicting info.

Here we go:

I'm coming on the 15th of next month.

I planned to enter visa exempt as a uk passport holder.

However I'd like to be certain that I stay for Songkran. So I'd need an extra week to be sure.

Can I extend a visa exempt??

Thanks in advance

It's cheaper to get a 60 day tourist visa from your country, 1900 baht extension,+ photos and photo copies and you could be in immigration for hours in Thailand. Just not worth the hassle

there has been water cut off everywhere so do u really think they are going to alway a bunch of tourists and sex pests throw around snd waste water i doubt it same as last year but this year is worse xx
Terary **********
Yeah--- they 'close bars at 02:00' but the bars are open. Sex toys are illegal but for sell on every corner. etc etc They couldn't stop the water works if the wanted to.

But Thai people are far more smarter than most give them credit. Worse case scenario - they'll charge the water trucks for fill ups and that cost will be charged to the tourists.

Yes, visa exempt entries are extendable for another 30 days. Go to ANY immigration office in the country with your passport, 1 passport sized photo, a copy of your passport data page and entry stamp, and 1900 baht.

If you're in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, go on a Wednesday in the morning, they can be pretty busy. If you're anywhere else you can go pretty much whenever.

not really too much conflicting on this question.

Yes. 1900thb at your local immigration office.

You can extend a 30-day visa exemption at the immigration officer that covers the hotel where you are staying. So if you're in Bangkok, you can go to the Immigration office out at Chang Wattana, then pay 1900thb, with an application, and get the extension for another 30 days.

Yes, Pattaya has an immigration office.

Cool?

Most medium to big cities will have an immigration office. If you're in a city that doesn't have an immigration office, you can do it at the police station, although I haven't done it that way. I've only done it in Bangkok.
Werner *******
Note that this will take anywhere from 1-4 hours in a big city like Bangkok.
