TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about extending their stay in Thailand by an additional 15 days without renewing their visa after arriving under a 30-day visa exemption. Responses indicate that to obtain the extension, the user must apply for a 30-day extension at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. Other options discussed include leaving the country and re-entering for a new stamp, but overstaying is cautioned against due to potential complications with future entries.

3 options you have you get another 30 days at Immigration for 1900 baht or cross a border short trip and re enter get 45 days or overstay for the 15 days you need and pay the fine of 500baht per day overstay and probably have it noted you overstayed and be on watch if you enter thialand again like the thai girls say up to you 😉

The rules are not retrospective...but you can apply for another 30 days as other people have replied. Enjoy your stay. 🙂

You can stamp out in a bordering country and stamp back in again.

When I arrived at BKK after going back to uk for 2 weeks, the immigration officer stopped me and sent me off to be checked as I’d spent pretty much a whole year in Thailand (STV, followed by covid extension) they eventually let me in but told me next time I must apply for a visa not just arrive visa exempt. Is this just immigration at BKK or should I be worried about not being let in next time?

@Kev *******
the issue you had was probably the combination of an STV and Covid extensions. I had 6 covid extensions and after that I have entered 5 times without a single question. 4 of those were through Chiang Mai.

you're probably going to have this issue any time you enter, mostly because of the covid extensions in your passport. You can try entering through Chiang Mai as we haven't had any reports of getting grilled there yet.

No. You’ll need to do an extension to get 30 days more (even if you’re only gonna need 15).
